Attendance: 8 Wehen Wiesbaden is currently building a new stand in the west side of the ground and with that in mind I was not planning to visit BRITA-Arena until the new stand is ready. When I had the opportunity to visit my three remaining grounds in 2. Bundesliga on consecutive days I changed my opinion though.
I realized a club like Hamburger SV would mean a sold-out 8, ground and if they are relegated back to 3. Liga not many matches, albeit with four stands, would get that kind of attendance. Having arrived at my hotel late on Saturday evening I had a very easy start to the day. I enjoyed a late breakfast and then relaxed in my room until I made the short 5 min. At the moment the capacity is 8, but once the new stand is ready capacity will be 15, My seat was in the leftmost section of the main stand.
This was officially a home section but I was probably the only non-HSV fan in this part of the ground! Hamburger SV is of course aiming for promotion back to the Bundesliga and Wehen Wiesbaden are aiming to stay up.
Backed by around 4, travelling fans HSV had most of the possession and clear chances in the first half but it was still at half-time. In the second half HSV attacked the end where their fans were and in the 48th minute this part of the ground was sent into wild celebrations.
David Kinsombi scored the goal and it felt like more HSV goals were to come. Despite several quality chances they failed to score again though and in stoppage time Wehen Wiesbaden, down to 10 men, equalized from a corner.
