The first inscriptions of tantra , a Sanskrit word, were found in the Vedas amidst aphorisms and allegories as cryptic methods for attaining enlightenment. Tantras defined practices of devotion, ritual, visualisation, breathwork, meditation, mantra and sacred sexuality to achieve blissful oneness with the Divine.
The word Tantra is derived from two roots: tan , meaning "to weave" or "extend," and tra , meaning "to protect" or "to save. Embody sessions focus on three avenues for practice: Breath, Movement and Touch. Explore one type per session or the synergy of all three. Breath: various breath techniques to relieve stress, release emotions, strengthen and open the diaphragm, tap into your life force and restore peace. Movement: primal and elemental flowing movements, improvisation, ecstatic dance and yoga asana practices to encourage expression through movement.
