The steady increase in the infections caused by multidrug-resistant MDR bacteria has become a major public health concern [ 1 ], including in France. As a result, they are associated with significant morbidity and mortality, as well as increased health care costs [ 2 ]. Antibiotic stewardship programs have been set up, including policies put in place by the French health authorities to monitor and reduce carbapenem use [ 3 ].
