Fire Island was such a high point, and while Provincetown has been mostly great so far, I have been much lonelier. Everywhere here is so crowded which is tough with my anxiety, and the events out here are more circuit parties and raves which is not really my vibe. On top of that, I woke up this morning not feeling well. The room is small, and the street noise is pretty loud which means sleeping will be more difficult tonight.
Luckily I brought some NyQuil with me which will hopefully help me pass out. I think Aaron would like Provincetown. These kinds of weeks cater heavily to couples and groups of friends who all come together, so being single and alone makes it much more difficult to connect with people. I did go out for dinner about an hour ago and it was delicious, but coming back through the crowd was giving me a lot of anxiety. I will probably just keep to myself tonight and watch some funny videos to try and improve my mood.
This was mostly a travel day, and I got up early in Fire Island to catch the first ferry back to Sayville. The train was a really nice ride, and certainly way better than dealing with the airport and taking a plane. Less than 4 hours later I was in Boston.
I have never been to Boston, and it was different looking than I expected. The train station was very dirty and ugly looking, at least where the Amtrak platforms were. Upstairs was nicer though, and I found my way to the Silver Line which I knew I needed to take to get to my ferry which was leaving 35 minutes after the train arrived!
I was expecting to get on a subway, but instead there was a regular bus waiting underground and it drove through a long tunnel as if it were a subway car. So strange. I made it to my hotel for the first two nights, the Harbor Hotel, and I was so glad to finally be done traveling.
