As much as I love my Kindle, nothing compares to feeling the cool, slick pages of the September issue of Vogue sliding under my fingertips. I am a proud hybrid reader, as the article points out, going back and forth from digital to print. And I think many people are. Sometimes, the convenience of a digital screen wins. Other times, I want to spend a lazy Saturday morning with a cup of tea and the latest Vogue. The lovely katiebird reviewed it for Bookish Temptations and gave it 3.

I love Louisiana, but Rocky Top will always be home sweet home to me. Check out all the details here. I realize I sound like a proud parent β¦ and in some ways, I suppose I am. My first-born book celebrates its first birthday this week! This experience has been everything I expected it to be and nothing I expected it to be. I am so, so grateful to everyone who has taken the time to read Spotlight.
You all have no idea how much it means to me. Barnes and Noble. Amazon paperback. Amazon Kindle edition. Add it to your lists! This interview was so important for many reasons. It opened up a national dialogue. It helped explain a sensitive topic. It challenged people to be more open-minded. Out of all that was said, there is one comment that stuck with me. There is an illusion of access to modern celebrities, thanks to social media, paparazzi photos, even TMZ. But β¦ how much do we really see?
Sure, I see celebrities I follow on social media pop up in my newsfeed, and I could tweet them anything at any time.
What I see is minute portion of their day and their personality β not a full picture. There is a point where that illusion of access goes to far. One of the saddest moments of the ABC special to me was when Bruce cancelled a medical procedure because paparazzi found about it and were waiting for him. I, for one, am glad that Bruce decided to tell his real, true story.
