As the old saying goes, April showers bring Mayβ¦career awareness? Specifically, May 9 is the day of opportunity as Workforce Resource, Inc. Career Venture is held annually to foster career and educational awareness among students in the nine-county West Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Area. More than 2, students in grades 7- 12 attend the event annually to explore future career options and prepare for the vital college and career decisions ahead.
For many students, an event like Career Venture is their first introduction to careers and training available to them within the West Central Wisconsin region. More than 60 exhibitors will provide a unique hands-on learning experience and provide students with an interactive activity at each exhibit.
Chippewa Valley Technical College has a semi-trailer with career simulators like a welding booth. The Eau Claire Police Department brings its alcohol impairment goggles to simulate the realities of impaired driving.
