A good friend at my gun club asked if l would hang a couple of very nice half glazed, oak veneered doors for him which l was very happy to do.
First one went up easily and fitted really well, the second one, not so well……. Any guesses? Well, I cut the hinges on the wrong side! They just needed flipping over but it meant that the cut out and first screw holes could be seen!
Then, to cap it all on recutting the hinges, on one of them l missed the line and went too far with the router. Bugger, Bugger, Bugger! I was so embarrassed. So, what schoolboy error have you made after many years of doing what you do as a living, hobby or otherwise? Go on, spill the beans?? Frappy Member Extraordinaire. We all make mistakes, did a similar thing last Sunday fitting all new kitchen cabinet doors.
Had to put a plate to join two doors , just marked up the screw holes and didn't check placement and came through the door. No, I never make any mistakes Ok, I may have made one or two, possibly. Also whilst a plumber, you very quickly learn to keep your mouth shut when rodding a blocked wc, drain or gully! Splashback does not taste very nice! The Crafty Carper Active member.
