Is anyone able to please recommend some hotels or at least the best places to stay in Berlin? Needs to be close to the centre as we only have two days and DD is autistic so finds travel a bit stressful.
Walking is good where possible. Thank you for any and all! We stayed at the crowne plaza a few years ago. The buffet breakfast was amazing, one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. The hotel itself felt very quiet for being so central. It's very central for West Berlin, near the zoo and just off the main shopping street Kurfurstendamm which has the KaDeWe.
Teirgarten and Reichstag not far either if I remember rightly. My tip would be to find somewhere in Mitte, close to Friedrichstrasse train station.
The area Tartan Mammy mentioned is far less historically interesting for tourists albeit close to the zoo, if your DD might find that interesting. Great buffet breakfast.
