Mr Weimar, who was the face of the Victorian Covid response as Covid Commander, was appointed chief executive of the Games organising committee in June The reporter pressed Mr Weimar about his massive paycheques but despite her persistence he refused to provide a comment.
Mr Weimar is facing substantial criticism regarding the money he's been earning as a top bureaucrat amid Australia's cost of living crisis. The reporter asked if he deserved such a substantial payout after the Games were cancelled, if he understood why Victorians were upset and if it bothered him to be the subject of controversy.
To each of the questions Mr Weimr answered 'no comment' before attempting to walk away as the reporter continued her pursuit. Mr Weimar now works in the Department of Premier and Cabinet and industry experts claim that he is underperforming in the new housing role.
