Hot Stone Therapy involves the use of smooth, heated stones. The localized heat and weight of the stones warms and relaxes the muscles, allowing massage therapist to apply deeper pressure to those areas without causing discomfort. Due to warmth of the stones the local blood flow improves therefore allowing faster healing and recovery.
Hot Stone Therapy uses smooth heated stones which come from river beds, basalt stones are used as they have a rich iron content that retains heat. The localized heat and weight of the stones warms and relaxes the muscles, allowing your massage therapist to apply firmer pressure to those areas without causing discomfort.
They incorporate the use of stones into their massage therapy sessions for clients. There is no additional fee at this time for a hot stone treatment. We do not offer a full hot stone massage appointment at this time, the massage therapy session will be like a regular massage treatment with a few minutes of stones applied to the area of the body needed if the therapist believes it would be beneficial and aid in your area of concern.
At Savannah Massage Therapy Clinic, we provide the health history forms online. We ask that you fill them out prior to your initial visit. The therapist will complete a full assessment at which time they will recommend a treatment plan to assist in your recovery.
