Collected cells are used by Red Cross cell and gene therapy partners that are researching or producing therapies to treat diseases such as cancer or autoimmune conditions. Based on your program eligibility our staff may contact you to schedule a collection appointment. You will be compensated based on appointment type. You may routinely give. There is a day waiting period between collections. Eligibility expires after days. Simply repeat the prescreen to renew your eligibility. If you live near one of our Specialized donor centers, you can be part of this exciting, cutting-edge work toward new treatments. Appointments typically scheduled Monday β Friday. Call to schedule an in-person appointment with a Red Cross staff member who will ask a series of questions to determine if you meet the health requirements for participation.
At your prescreen, samples of blood will be drawn for testing purposes. Results are reviewed by medical staff to determine program eligibility. The review process can take weeks.
