If you meet with a birth mother counselor, you will not be pressured to make any decision. In considering adoption, there are varying levels of openness you can choose with your adopting family.
You create the type of adoption plan that is right for you. A counselor will be there for you throughout the entire process, even after placement. In NC a birth mother has 7 days to change her mind after completing paperwork. No paperwork has to be signed until 48hrs after birth. It may be a difficult decision to make, but it may also be the most loving thing you can do for your son or daughter. If you cannot take care of your child, give them a chance to live with someone who is prepared to take care of them as their own son or daughter.
